Gordon Brown denies government failed dead Iraq hostages

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/jun/22/gordon-brown-iraq-hostages

Summary:
Gorden Brown was the spokesman for the government on a press conference about Iraq. This press conference was held because two hostages were handed over; dead. Brown defended the actions of the government and negotiations have been renewed. Graeme Moore, father of one of the surviving hostages, accuses the Foreign Office to have acted inadequately during the negotiantions. The Foreign Office, on the other hand, states that it is impossible to handle every hostage-taking the same and therefore must be handled very delicately every single time. The father of one of the hostages keeps insisting that the government did not do their job correctly. The government, on the other hand, remains with its statement of doing the right thing.

My view:
This is the all-too-known "NO YOU DIDN'T" vs "YES I DID". Kind of childish really. I mean, it doesn't really matter if the government tried or not, the victims don't get any less dead. A bit self-centered too; the father keeps blabbering how they did not do enough to save his son, but not about what they are doing to keep the others alive. He only complains about the plan, and how dangerous it is, not seeing the difficulty of the job of freeing hostages in itself. It is not as easy in the movies, movies have to make sense otherwise they won't sell; reality doesn't have that feature, it doesn't make sense. Anyway, all in all, I hope that the hostages will be freed or otherwise killed not too brutally, there is no use in pain.

Peace
